The flow switch is a safety device that has a built in sensor which sits in the pipework for both the heating and hot water systems. The flow switch is designed to detect movement in the pipework and relays the information back to the printed circuit board which then allows the ignition sequence to progress. The purpose of the flow switch is making sure there is plenty of water in the system and stops the burner from activating if the system is low on water.
