What is a Clock, Programmer and Timer?
The Clock, Programmer or Timer will either be mechanical/analogue or digital. A Clock, Programmer or Timer is used in combination with central heating to program when the central heating should automatically switch on or off. It can also be used to set the boiler to switch off or be on stand-by and ready to supply heat when there is a demand.
An example of a popular brand of clock is Danfoss Randall, an example of a popular brand of timer is Siemans and an example of a popular brand of programmer is Honeywell. Some boilers such as Baxi, Worcester, Vaillant and Ferroli have a built in timer or programmer. A common timer, programmer or clock to be fitted are Diehl, Grasslin, Drayton and Tower.
