What is a Condensate Trap?
A condensate trap is used to collect the moisture from the condensed gases in the boiler, this should be emptied during servicing intervals. It can also be called a Siphon. The condensate trap is installed in the gas line between the shut off valve. When the air is cooled, it can't hold as much moisture, so it condensates or collects on the evaporator coils and drips to a shallow pan. There is a drain on this pan that takes the water away from the unit. The trap will most likely be made of plastic and will usually come as a trap kit - including a tube & washers - but this is not the case with all boilers.
It is important to take your time to find the right Condensate Trap or Siphon for your Gas Boiler. We have a large range in stock at DHS and if you are unsure about which trap you need, please give us a call.
