This part is located near the pilot burner. The pilot burner works with the pilot assembly to ensure that the fuel is ignited safely and efficiently. When the appliance is activated the gas valve releases the gas into the main burner and the pilot burner, a flame within the appliance is used to start the combustion of the gas which is coming into the main burner .
