The diverter valve is an instrument that is only found on a combi boiler, which is designed to allow hot water to be sent to the radiators in a central heating system or to the taps in a hot water system. This is what separates combi boilers from normal boilers due to the combi boiler not requiring a cylinder to provide hot water to both the taps and radiators .
