VAILLANT 090668 IGNITION ELECTRODE.

There are two different types of electrode, the flame sensing electrodes and the ignition electrodes. The ignition electrode is used to make a spark that starts off combustion inside the burner. The flame sensing electrodes are responsible for detecting whether there is a flame in the burner, this is an important safety device designed to stop the fuel if the flame is not lit .
