The diverter valve is a directional water device that is only found on a combi boiler, which is designed to allow hot water to be redirected to either the radiators for central heating or to the taps for hot water. This is what separates combi boilers from normal boilers due to the fact that the boiler can provide hot water to both the central heating and taps without the need for a cylinder .
